In order to facilitate a short residence near the forest and to contribute as much as possible in ameliorating the quality of life, the Ministry of Rural development & Food has created forest/environmental clusters, the *Forest Villages*, in forest areas of the country, such as: Erimanthos, Kedros, Driades, Livadaki, Kapsitsa and Ano Doliana.
In each region, twenty houses with an accommodation capacity up to eighty persons, integrated into the natural environment, are equipped with all necessary facilities for serving their clients.
Today, the construction of six forest villages has been completed. The houses can accommodate people who wish to reside in the forest for a short time on grounds of recreation or of training.
The Ministry of Rural Development and Food is ambitious to expand its program and set up forest villages in all forest clusters of our country. We wish to create:
Centers of development for mountainous areas of our country,
Places of recreation and environmental training,
Resorts from the modern life stress, through a direct contact with nature.

1) Vacant Land: if you own land, you are required to keep it cleaned of inflammable materials (loose branches, dead trees, garbage, etc).
2) Branch Clippings --Neighbors should not put their clippings and weeds on someone else’s vacant land. Rather, garden clippings should be put in large black trash bags and placed next to the “Green” trash bins (not in them; as this takes up room needed for regular domestic trash).
3) Old furniture and “Large” appliances --should not be dumped on vacant land. Please place them near a Green Bin for trash removal.
4) “Small” appliances (e.g., irons, hair dryers, coffee makers, etc.) can be placed in a plastic bin that My Market Supermarket has located at the entrance of the store. ;
5) glass materials—please avoid dumping any kind of glass on vacant land. It is possible for the sun to start a fire when it’s hot, rays reflect into broken glass.
