Vari - Βάρη
|
Vari (or Várê, Greek: Βάρη) is a suburban community in the southwestern part of the Mesogeia plain and the southeast shoulder of the Hymettus mountain, another mountain dominates to the southeast. Distance from Voula and Varkiza is 2 km each along with the blue beaches, and 4 km west of Agia Marina, and other communities of the southern suburbs. It serves access to the eastern suburbs and Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport. Vari is locally known for its many taverns, the "Vlahika". A soccer field is situated in the southeast which is home to Aris FC and a military base facing west to east and south to north is about 2 km north. The ancient demos of Anagyrous was situated here. |
